Positive affirmations! I started incorporating these in my life about two years ago, and recently have been focusing more on them again to help me reach some of my goals like writing consistently, being kinder to myself and others, practicing gratitude, and feeling confident about myself and my abilities.

Affirmations are a great way to change and direct your mindset. You can not control everything in your life, but you can control your thoughts. Being intentional about the things you are telling yourself about who you are, what you can accomplish, and what your place is in the world is important. Affirmations play a big part in helping you align yourself with the kind of person you want to be. They are also a great way to change and replace any limiting beliefs you have about yourself.

How to practice positive affirmations

I love practicing positive affirmations in the morning, and I will probably do a separate post soon specifically on morning affirmations. I like to find podcasts or other audio (check Youtube or Spotify) of affirmations to repeat after each one while I’m getting ready or driving to work.

Another great thing you can do is write down affirmations you find (or come up with yourself!) and then read them out loud regularly, especially when you are feeling down, frustrated, or otherwise out of alignment with yourself and who you want to be. I like to sit down once a week and write new affirmations that I feel are relevant in my journal.

Either way, speaking your positive affirmations aloud is one of the best ways to reinforce them in your mind, and I highly recommend it!
